Who we are, how we review casinos, and how we make money — explained clearly.
CasinoScout is an independent casino review and comparison site launched in 2025, focused initially on the Canadian market and expanding internationally. We were built out of frustration with existing casino comparison sites that rank casinos based on who pays the highest affiliate commission rather than genuine quality.
Our team combines experience in iGaming journalism, consumer finance and digital publishing. Every casino listed on the site has been evaluated by a human reviewer against a consistent eight-point scoring framework. No casino can buy its way onto our lists.
Every casino on CasinoScout is scored across eight criteria. The overall score is a weighted average, with payout reliability and licence quality carrying the most weight. A casino that fails our licence or payout tests is not listed regardless of commission rates.
| Category | Weight | What we measure |
|---|---|---|
| Payout speed & reliability | 25% | Real withdrawal tests, stated vs actual times, complaint history |
| Licence & safety | 20% | Regulatory status, encryption, RNG certification, fairness audits |
| Canadian banking (Interac) | 20% | Interac availability, CAD support, fees, deposit/withdrawal limits |
| Bonus value | 15% | True value in CAD, wagering terms, game weights, expiry |
| Game selection | 10% | Total games, providers, live casino, mobile performance |
| Responsible gambling | 5% | Tools available, self-exclusion, RGC links |
| Customer support | 5% | Response time, channels, hours, quality of answers |
CasinoScout earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When a reader clicks a "Claim Bonus" link and signs up at a casino, we may receive a commission from that casino. This commission is paid by the casino at no cost to the player.
We have affiliate relationships with all casinos listed on the site. However, our commercial relationships do not influence our editorial decisions. Casinos are ranked by their scores, not by commission rates. We have turned down higher-commission offers from casinos that did not meet our standards.
For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Our editorial team operates independently from our commercial team. Reviewers do not know commission rates before writing reviews. No casino operator has any ability to review, edit or approve content before publication. We do not publish sponsored reviews or paid placements disguised as editorial content.
If a casino we recommend declines our affiliate application, it remains on the site with a note that we do not currently earn commission from referrals to that casino.
